Methuen

Methuen is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. It is located in the Merrimack Valley region of the state, approximately 30 miles north of Boston. Methuen was incorporated as a town in 1725 and became a city in 1993. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was approximately 51,000 people.

Historically, Methuen was a center for textile manufacturing and was home to a number of mills in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Today, Methuen is a suburban community with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The city is home to several parks and recreational facilities, including Forest Lake, which offers swimming and boating opportunities.

Methuen is also home to several notable landmarks and institutions, including the Methuen Memorial Music Hall, a historic concert hall with one of the largest pipe organs in the world, and the Nevins Memorial Library, a public library that serves the city and surrounding communities.
