Whether you’re buying or selling, or both, many are aware that The Federal Reserve continues to raise interest rates to fight inflation. Their next meeting is on September 21-22, you see their calendar by clicking HERE. We can’t provide insight as to which way The Fed will go, but they do impact mortgage rates. As of this writing, rates are at 5.89% for a 30-year mortgage, you can follow them daily at Freddie Mac. Also of interest is Fed support of Mortgage Backed Securities, which may or may not be keeping prices elevated during the current market decline. When The Fed decides to implement their “Quantitative Tightening” in the MBS market remains to be seen:

 

Are they really tightening here? You decide.
